Meet the Team

Puzzles is run by a team of parents, carers and volunteers who understand because they live it too. You’ll spot us on every trip in our bright orange shirts!

Our trustees

Our trustees are mainly parents of autistic children and young adults. As well as overseeing the charity, they help plan and run our activities.

Paul Harper

Leader and Trustee

“I have over 21 years’ experience working with autism and disability, from government work programmes to working in a disabled school and project management. I like to get involved with the families and adults, making them laugh and getting them to join in. I also like to help others: if I don’t know something, I will find it.”

Winner of the MVA Barry Clout Award and a Commonwealth Games baton bearer.

Amanda Birch

Chair of Trustees and Events Manager

“I’m a wife and a mum to a beautiful girl who has complex needs. Before Puzzles I worked in NHS hospital pharmacy. I went from being a mum taking my daughter to events, to a volunteer, to Events Manager and Chair of Trustees, which is an absolute honour. I love seeing the children smile, make friends and grow into these amazing individuals.”

Tracey Rea

Trustee and Assistant Events Manager

“I work for a children’s charity in Kent, where I get paid to play games and act a fool! Officially I’m a youth worker trained in positive behaviour support, working with children with special needs in groups or one-to-one. I love tea and cake but hate spiders and snakes.”

Angela Glover

Trustee, Community Officer and Parent Voice

“I have experience in adult social care and two children, both with autism. I understand the battles parents of SEN children fight and will do what I can to help.”

Nicola Leahy

Trustee and Office Manager

Nicola keeps the Puzzles office running smoothly behind the scenes.

Maxi Card

Trustee

Maxi brings experience in social support, activities and inclusion.

Our volunteers

More than 40 volunteers give their time to make Puzzles happen, helping on trips, at events and behind the scenes. Every one of them is DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. Could you become an orange shirt?
